Of course!
Every summer, we help dozens of friends groups, families, scouts, businesses, and organizations get on the water.
We help several Scout Troops, Venture Crews, and summer camps tackle day trips and multi-day trips to earn their 50/100-mile badges. We’ve gotten groups as large as 155 people on day and multi-day canoe and kayak trips. We’ve also accommodated corporate groups such as Wegman’s, American Refining Group, and Betts Industries.
-
Regardless of whether you purchase a card, we’re here to help. Trip planning services are always included whether it be camping recommendations or resupply points on a multi-day trip, or logistics for a day trip. It’s what we do!
-
The card is available in multiples of $1000 for non-profits and individuals. They are available to large businesses (corporate) in increments of $2,500.

No. This is a physical gift card that must be present when making purchases in order to receive the discounts.

The short answer - we have important projects we really want to tackle that continue to take a place on the backburner.
The long answer is that the outfitting side of AO is how we get ahead. Simply put, summers are key to our growth. The water events (floods) in 2021 were like nothing we’ve ever seen in our 17 years of outfitting on the Allegheny River. Being closed 62 days due to high water during peak season was a major setback. Because of this, a couple big projects that were near completion were put on hold.
We’re ready to bring them to fruition. They’ll improve paddler safety, education, and planning; while bringing additional revenue streams to a small business for years to come.

So glad you asked!
We first printed the Allegheny River Paddling Guide, a 36-page waterproof guidebook, in 2007. It’s now about to head to its fourth printing in April. (If you haven’t seen it, you really should.)
Our goal is to print two more books. The Allegheny River Paddling Guide II (from President to Emlenton); and Warren County Creeks Paddling Guide (includes Brokenstraw, Conewango, and Tionesta Creeks).
These books are a hefty investment on our end. If you’ve used the Paddling Guide, you know its durability. The printing process is much more in-depth and costly than a traditional print job, as it has a thick 5-mil lamination around every page and a super solid spiral binding.
We’ve been working on these for years. Literally. And although they still have a few tweaks and test runs before going to print, we’re ready to get them into the hands of paddlers exploring our local waterways.
-
Each person that purchases a card will receive a free copy of either the Allegheny River Paddling Guide II or Warren County Creeks Guide when they are released.
(We expect to have these in-hand no later than July 30th.)
-
Only when you’ve used up every last cent on it! Like a regular AO gift card, their is no expiration date as to when it has to be used.
-
We’re hoping to reach our goal by February 15, 2024. At this time, that is our cutoff date. This may change if we reach our goal before then.
-
Super! You can purchase them in the shop or online here.
