Where: AO, 20 Clark Street, Warren, PA 16365
Duration: 1 hour, Cost: $5
With the growth of outdoor recreation in our area, and paddling in particular, people are starting to explore our local creeks and rivers more and more. We've seen an enormous spike in calls, emails and messages asking about river conditions.
This workshop will cover how we monitor water levels using USGS, USACE, and AHIP websites and data. Of course this alone does not always ensure a safe environment, but it is best used as a guide for your initial thought of "what's the river look like today?" This workshop will include a short field trip to a USGS site within walking distance.
Participants are encouraged to bring their cell phones so they can set them up with bookmarked sites and water data alerts if they choose to do so.
(Please note - this is a classroom workshop. We will not be on the water.)
